Starting a new business or opening a new branch or office? We're here to help! We can power up your business in 5 easy steps.

These steps only apply to businesses with a contracted capacity of 5 to 499kW and new Meralco facilities are required to energize their property and connect it to the grid.

 

 

Step

1

 

Application

  • Prepare the requirements:
    1. • Identification documents
      1. q Valid ID (for Individual)
      2. q SEC Certificate of Registration (for Non-residential)
    2. • Electrical load requirements
    3. • Occupancy documents
    4. • Tax identification documents
      1. q TIN ID (for Individual)
      2. q BIR Certificate of Registration (for Non-residential)
    5. • Authorization letter, as needed
  • Submit via these channels:
    1. •  Meralco Business Centers
    2. •  My Meralco
    3. •  Private Electrical Contractors Certified by Meralco*

Evaluation

  • Inspect premises of your home or business to verify the following:
    1. q Completeness of home or business facilities
    2. q Completeness of wiring system
    3. q Distance from the nearest Meralco facility
  • Issue yellow card for securing a Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) from the LGU

Installation

  • Secure meter socket from the nearest Meralco Business Center
  • Install service entrance via PECCBM or electrician and use the yellow card as guide
  • Update Meralco once installation is complete via the contact details provided

Completion

  • Submit the Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) and other documents
  • Sign contract
  • Pay bill deposit via these channels:
    1. •  Meralco Business Centers
    2. •  My Meralco

 

Step

5

 

Energization

  • Install electric meter and energize service

This will be done in the presence of the customer or authorized representative

Need to update your contract or bill details or upgrade your electrical load? You can easily do that via My Meralco.

  1. Authorization letter for customer's representative
  2. Valid government ID of the customer and his representative
  3. Proof of ownership (Transfer Certificate of Title or Deed of Sale or Contract of Lease)
  4. BIR Certificate of Registration
Additional requirements   
A. Change in contract details (e.g., misspelled names or change in marital status)
  1.  National Statistics Office or local civil registry corrected birth certificate
  2. National Statistics Office or local civil registry marriage certificate
  3. DTI registration
Articles of Partnership
  1. One valid government issued ID of authorized signatory and corporate secretary (with picture and signature)
  2. Board Resolution/ Secretary’s Certificate
  3. Latest General Information Sheet (GIS)
  4. Amended SEC documents with Board of Directors
B. Addition or reduction of electrical load or remodeling of meter

Load Schedule (for addition or reduction of electrical load or remodeling of meter only)*

  1. Single Line Diagram
  2. Location Sketch
C. Relocation of meterDTI registrationArticles of Partnership

* If you are required to provide a building permit in compliance with the CFEI, you need to secure a Power Line Operator (PLO) Certificate from Meralco. The PLO certificate is a requirement for the issuance of building permit, as mandated by the RA 11361 or the Anti-Obstruction of Power Lines (AOPL) Act.

Upon submission of requirements, a Biz Customer Service Engineer will coordinate with you within three (3) working days for the next steps.

Closing shop or moving to another location? You may request for the termination of your electric service via My Meralco.

Upon submission of requirements via My Meralco, a Biz Customer Service Engineer will coordinate with you within three (3) working days for the next steps.

Service Application Requirements for Businesses

Note: Requirements can be submitted by your selected electrical contractor.

Requirements:

  1. Online Application
  2. Authorized letter for customer's representative
  3. Electrical Plan with Load Schedule, Single Line Diagram, and Location Sketch (signed and sealed by a Professional Electrical Engineer)
  4. Valid Government ID of a customer and representative
  5. Proof of ownership (Transfer Certificate of Title or Deed of Sale or Contract of Lease)
  6. BIR Certificate of Registration

Additional Requirements for Corporations:

  1. SEC Registration with Articles of Incorporation
  2. Latest General Information Sheet (GIS)
  3. Secretary's Certificate (authorized to sign the Meralco contract)

Additional Requirements for Partnerships:

  1. Articles of Partnership

Additional Requirements for Individual/Sole Proprietorship:

  1. Business Permit or Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Permit
